New addition to the product range: flexible containment systems for a mobile use
The handling of liquids hazardous to water is strictly regulated, this due to the potential risks to human health and the environment. The employer is required to document the hazards when dealing with hazardous substances and to take corresponding protective measures in case of an emergency. In the year 2013, for example, in accidents involving liquids hazardous to water, 11 million liters (2.538 accidents) escaped and at least 4.7 millions of released water pollutants could be recovered, thanks to the adopted measures. These emergency measures included, among others, the sealing of damaged containers or system parts, the decanting and transferring into other containers. This prevented further leaks or the further propagation of liquids.
The quantity of pollutants not recovered demonstrates the particular importance of flexible and portable containment berms, which, in case of an emergency, are quickly at hand and, for example, can be easily transported on vehicles (e.g. tankers, construction machines, forestry machines, emergency vehicles of fire departments, etc.).
